Flag Raising Ceremony

Local Elders and Drummers joined the board to honour the Treaty Six and Métis Flag which were then hung in the Boardroom.  For more information and pictures of this ceremony, click here.

2024-2025 Spring Budget

The Board approved the 2024-2025 Wild Rose School Division budget which has a deficit of $1,875,480. The division operating reserves are expected to decline by approximately $1.9 million to cover the deficit.  Additional information regarding the budget is available in the 2024-2025 Budget Supplementary Information document.

Education Plan

The Board approved the 2024-2025 updates to their 2022-2026 Education Plan.  The Education Plan continues to build on strategies to provide powerful learning environments for students and staff, as well as Indigenous cultural and educational supports to all students.

Locally Developed Courses

Approval was given to several Locally Developed Courses for the 2024-2025 School Year.  For a complete list of courses, click here.

Out of Country Field Trip

Approval in principle was granted to the Rocky Christian School International Field trip to Belize, to take place during Spring Break 2025, provided it is booked with a reputable organization.

Board Delegations

The Board had the opportunity to hear from a delegation representing Diva’s cafeteria, and their concerns regarding the future closure of the WCHS cafeteria.  They also heard Marion and Trevor Cale discuss the benefits that the before and after school programs in École Rocky Elementary and Lochearn School bring to our community.  Bailey Eklund, WRSD’s Edwin Parr nominee, joined the board to meet them before the celebration with the other nominees from Zone 4 on May 27, 2024.
