Board Highlights - March 19, 2024
Capital Plan
The WRSD Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the 2025-2028 Capital Plan, with our three priorities being, the K-12 Modernization of the Breton Schools, Right Size Elementary Schools in Rocky Mountain House and Major Modernization of Frank Maddock High School. Our first priority is currently in the design phase, however construction funding has yet to be granted, see the news release here. Our second priority will be enhanced by the value management that is scheduled to take place in April 2024.
International Field Trips
The Board gave final approval to the West Central High School trip to Paris and Italy from March 21, 2024 to March 31, 2024.
Trustee Reports
The Trustees have been very busy, and they shared some of the highlights from the events and meetings they attended in the last month including, CASS Zone 4, Alberta Rural Education Symposium, FCSS Poverty Awareness, Rocky Christian School drama performance, West Central High School band performance, provincial sporting events, Alberta Education workshop as well as their regular school council meetings.
