Update on Possible ATA Strike Action

As you may be aware, the provincial Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) remains in contract negotiations with the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA). These negotiations include all teachers and school administrators in Public, Catholic, and Francophone school divisions across Alberta.

On Wednesday, the ATA announced that if a negotiated settlement is not reached through this process, job action will commence on Monday, October 6, 2025.  It is not known at this time what this may involve, but it could include a province-wide strike.

It is important to note that, though the ATA has provided notice for job action commencing on October 6, 2025, negotiations can be ongoing in the meantime.  At Wild Rose School Division, we are hopeful the bargaining process will lead to an agreeable settlement between the TEBA and the ATA before this deadline.

At this time all schools remain open and regular learning and instruction will continue for all students.

As negotiations continue, Wild Rose School Division remains committed to informing our school communities with any updates when available.

We deeply appreciate the vital contributions of our teachers, administrators, and support staff to our schools and communities.

We also want to thank our families for their trust and patience during this time.
