News Release - Superintendent Brad Volkman Retires
On September 17, 2024, Brad Volkman, Superintendent of Schools for Wild Rose School Division announced his retirement effective July 31, 2025. Brad started with the Division on August 1, 2015 after 27 years with Prairie Rose School Division.
“This will be my 10th year as Superintendent of Schools with WRSD,” said Mr. Volkman. “ I have enjoyed being part of this wonderful school division, working together with so many amazing people, however, I feel it is time for me to move on to something new and also to make room for new leadership in WRSD.”
Wild Rose School Division has realized many accomplishments under Brad’s leadership, including the building of four new school buildings, strengthening community connections, improving relationships with our municipal partners and implementing a comprehensive Indigenous Education program, to name a few.
Board Chair Daryl Scott comments, “Mr. Volkman has been an outstanding leader in our division and has brought a level of excellence to his role, while maintaining his commitment to Faith, Family and Fitness. He has left an everlasting impact on our school division, and we wish him all the best as he embarks on new opportunities.”
As the Board of Trustees prepare for an extensive search for a new Superintendent, they will hire an experienced consultant to help them ensure they follow the best process, in order to attract the best possible candidates.
