On April 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm an open house meeting will be held at the David Thompson High School to help WRSD and the community of David Thompson High School determine the direction of the $8.0M Modernization. This meeting will provide details on the approved budget for the DTHS Modernization Project, review the hazardous material assessment and provide options for some gym alternatives.

In 2015, Alberta Education approved an $8.0M modernization project for David Thompson High School. In order for WRSD to ensure that the modernization fits the needs of the community, an open house meeting was held on March 22, 2016 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the David Thompson High School.  The open house allowed community members to come together in order to discuss challenges and potential design options.
