WRSD Supports the Community of Condor Through Tragedy
Last night, Wild Rose School Division was impacted by a terrible accident at a family owned farm near Withrow, Alberta that resulted in the deaths of three young children.
“This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and our students, staff and communities impacted by this event,” stated Superintendent, Brad Volkman. “We will be working with everyone involved to provide the support and care our communities need at this time.”
The three girls had attended Condor School two years ago but were not currently attending school in WRSD. The WRSD crisis management team will be at Condor School today in order to offer supports for students and staff. Family Wellness workers and the SRO Officer will also be available as needed.
“Words can’t do justice for the loss our school, students and community is feeling,” stated Condor School Principal, Cheryl Kalev. “I know our school will do everything we can to help support everyone to get through this terrible time.”
