Parents & Guardians,

We trust this school year has gone well and that you and your child(ren) will have a safe and enjoyable summer.

For the 2015-­2016 school year WRSD will be changing our Student Information System (SIS) to a system called PowerSchool. This will be our main database for student information such as registration, attendance and report cards.

This SIS change will change the look of our standardized forms including our report cards and student registrations. It also will give parents and guardians access to new features. One of these will be the parent and student portal (online access) which will launch in the 2016 portion of the school year. Other applications, such as Synervoice our autodialing system, that interact with our SIS may also undergo operational changes.

We intend to treat next year as an implementation trial and learning process. Based on feedback, resulting changes may occur. We expect many of our regular processes and procedures will have several modifications throughout the school year.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and feedback as we move forward next year. Please feel free to talk to your child's teacher or principal with comments. They will ensure your comments make it to our system implementation team. We are excited about next year and the plans we have for improving our Student Information System.
