Board Highlights - September 17, 2024
Oil Country in Drayton Valley
The Edmonton Oilers organization announced that they are coming to two schools in our division, for a presentation featuring their alumni and mascot. Powerhouse Campus and Frank Maddock High School were chosen as this will maximize the number of students that will be able to participate. The presentation will be on November 8, and discounted tickets for Drayton Valley residents will be available for their game on November 14.
Nordegg School
The community of Nordegg sent a request to the School Division to reinstate the public school in Nordegg. The Board directed administration to determine the viability of a program, and approximately how many students would attend.
Superintendent’s Retirement
Superintendent Brad Volkman announced his intention to retire effective July 31, 2025. Read the full news release here.
Transportation Accountability Report
The Director of Transportation shared the highlights from her 2023-2024 Accountability Report, and spent time answering the Boards questions regarding transportation including registration, funding and student fees
