Consideration of Leslieville School K-7 Program Closure
Chair, Russ Hickman gave notice that at the April 28, 2020 meeting of the Board, WRSD Trustees will vote on the closure of the Leslieville School K-7 program effective June 30, 2020 and a date will be chosen to hold a public meeting at least three weeks prior to the April 28 board meeting for public feedback. The notice of motion was supported by the Board.
CAAMSE Agreement
The Board of Trustees reviewed the changes to the CAAMSE Collective Agreement and agreed to ratify the agreement for a one year term of September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.
Investment
The Secretary Treasurer presented a couple of options for investing some of the School Boards reserve money in an effort to capitalize on funds that are currently sitting in the bank not earning significant interest. These funds are from the recent sale of property and are earmarked for pre-determined expenditures in the near future. The Board agreed to invest $3,000,000 for 90 day terms.
Accountability Reports
The Board received the Student Services and Early Learning Accountability Reports. There were significant improvements in several of the audited areas in student services. In Early Learning, the trend continues for more students being recognized and supported earlier.
