Board Meeting Dates
Changes were made to some of the 2024-2025 board meeting dates, including the addition of dates in September and October 2025. These dates needed to be chosen before the next organizational meeting which won’t be until after the election on October 20, 2025.
Trustee Compensation
The board reviewed compensation data compiled for the purpose of comparison to WRSD trustee compensation. After careful consideration, it was decided that trustees would change the way they report their time from hourly, to block funding in increments of 2, 4, 8, and 12 hours. This change is effective immediately and will help maintain consistency in reporting.
FNMI Accountability Report
Our new Director of Indigenous Education, Billie-Jo Grant joined the meeting to present the 2023-2024 highlights as well as to share the goals for 2024-2025.
Ministerial Order: Personal Mobile Devices
Superintendent Brad Volkman shared the progress the division has made in developing the Administrative Procedure that will guide our Principals in implementing this ministerial order in our schools. The Board discussed the need to educate our students on the proper use of personal devices and social media, and not rely on banning them altogether.
