AN ACTING PRINCIPAL 

for Breton Elementary School

in Breton, Alberta

Wild Rose School Division invites applications for the position of Acting Principal for Breton Elementary School.  Duties will commence with the 2025/2026 school year on August 25, 2025.

The successful candidate will be placed in the principal role for the 2025/26 school year. Upon the completion of the modernization of Breton High School (expected Fall of 2026) the candidate will assume the role of Vice Principal for the new Breton Keystone School (K-12).

We are seeking a leader who exemplifies a dynamic, collaborative management style in an environment of positive interaction with all education partners who will model the mission, vision, and values of Wild Rose School Division. Candidates will possess or be working towards a post-graduate degree in administration, leadership or related field.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience with teaching and administration, demonstrated expertise in the area of instructional leadership and possess the strong communication skills necessary to the collaborative structure of our school division. They should also have a strong understanding of the Collaborative Response process.

Breton is a village in central Alberta, located approximately 95 km southwest of Edmonton. The

Breton Elementary School houses approximately 150 students grades Pre-K to 6 and utilizes various strategies and programs to best meet the needs of the individual students.

A complete package will include a cover letter, resume, names and contact information for three references and a copy of their Alberta teaching certification in a single google or pdf document. 

 The successful applicant will be required to provide an original, satisfactory, and recent (within six months) Criminal Record check with vulnerable as a condition of employment.

The competition will remain open until 4:00 pm on March 10, 2025.
