Audited Financial Statements
The Board reviewed the 2022-2023 Audited Financial Statements, including the usage of reserves that exceed newly established operational reserve parameters. A motion was also made to send a letter to the Minister of Education to request permission to utilize the over maximum allowable operational reserves as outlined in the letter to the MInister.
Annual Education Results Report
The Board approved the 2022-2023 Annual Education Results Report as presented.
Accountability Reports
The Director of Instruction and the Learning Services Coordinator joined the meeting and shared highlights including literacy and numeracy champions, new curriculum and the dual credit program from the Learning Services Accountability Report . Deputy Superintendent Greg Wedman shared the highlights from the Personnel Accountability Report, noting that filling positions remains a key challenge for the Division,
The Board also engaged in several in depth discussions around employee attraction and retention, dealing with employee shortages, and employee recognition at Christmastime.
