Publication of Provincial Test/Exam Results

Background

Preamble:

 

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act authorizes public access to certain information, including Diploma Examination and Provincial Achievement Test results at the Division and school level.

Procedures

The following procedures shall be followed in Wild Rose School Division.

 

Procedures:

 

Achievement Test Results:

 

1.      Individual school results for Achievement Tests shall be reviewed when they become available at the next regular school council meeting.

 

2.      Principals shall supply contextual factors for results achieved on the Achievement Tests. These contextual factors will be consolidated and included in a report that will include:

 

         2.1     Provincial results

 

         2.2     Divisional results

 

         2.3     Individual results for all schools; and

 

         2.4     Contextual factors to consider for interpretation of results

 

3.      This report will be filed as a public document and be released in summary form within seven days following the receipt of information in Procedure 2 above. This report will be a public document and be available to all interested parties, including schools, school councils, and local news media.

 

Diploma Exam Results:

 

1.      Individual school yearly results for Diploma Exams shall be made public  as soon as they become available from Alberta Education* and shall be reviewed at the next regular school council meeting.

 

2.      Principals shall supply contextual factors for results achieved on Diploma Exams. These contextual factors will be consolidated and  included in a report referred to in Procedure 3 below.

 

3.      A report will be prepared including the five-year roll-ups, and will include:

 

         3.1     Provincial results

 

         3.2     Divisional results

 

         3.3     Individual results for all schools and

 

         3.4     Contextual factors to consider for interpretation of results

 

4.      This report will be filed as a public document and be released in summary form following the receipt of information in Procedure 2 above. This report will be a public document and be available to all interested parties, including schools, school councils, and local news media.
