Non-Students Riding School Busses

Background

Preamble:

 

Generally, school busses will provide transportation only to students attending regular K-12 programs. Situations may arise, however, where pre-school children or other non-students may be transported on a school bus.

Procedures

Regulations:

 

1.      Any non-student riders on school busses shall have the prior approval of the Manager of Transportation Services.

 

2.      Any non-student riders on school busses must be at least 40 pounds in weight and eligible to ride in a motor vehicle without a child seat. Satisfactory proof of the child's weight shall be determined by the Manager of Transportation Services in his sole discretion.

 

3.      Non-student riders shall be eligible to ride regular school busses only if there is sufficient room for students registered to ride the bus.

 

4.      Non-student riders shall only be picked up and dropped off at stops already established for registered student riders.
